The After-Party - extending the revelry beyond the reception!
Wedding after parties are the latest addition to wedding itinerary's which now include welcoming parties and following day brunches. Like James Packer and Erica Baxter you can extend your wedding celebrations over multiple days. Brides used to change and say farewell at the end of their wedding reception but now they're choosing to relax and unwind with their guest at an after party. It's a great plan considering receptions are generally very hectic and you struggle to chat with everyone, and once it's over guest who all usually all staying in the same guest accommodation end up eating and continuing to chat in someone's room.
You could send out invitations to the after party, include info in welcome bags or keep it a surprise till the end of the night. To keep the celebrations alive chose a location near the reception and organise a bar tender and cigar collection, acoustic guitar player or DJ and have some food like meatballs, mini burgers, pizza or sandwiches and sweets. Brides can slip into a cute cocktail dress and party till 3am or 5am.
Week long celebrations in overseas locations like Hawaii or weekend long ceremony's are great for the bride and groom as well as for the guests because it is a great opportunity to spend a vacation with friends and family! Speak to your wedding planner for some ideas on hosting an after party.
